Thomas Edison State University has appointed Margaret ‘Meg’ Frantz as director of Alumni Affairs. She is responsible for the planning and implementation of the overall alumni program and serves as the University’s primary liaison to alumni.
Frantz is charged with developing innovative programs to foster engagement, advocacy and support from the University’s more than 50,000 alumni. As director of Alumni Affairs, she will seek to strengthen the lifelong relationships between these alumni and the University. Using social media and more traditional means, she will connect alumni with current and prospective students and with each other to promote career advancement and educational attainment.
“Meg is inspired by the remarkable stories of our alumni, and her passion for alumni engagement makes her the ideal person to serve the needs of the University’s ever-growing community of alumni,” said John P. Thurber, vice president for Public Affairs at the University. “We are delighted to have Meg leading the alumni affairs team.”
Prior to this position, Frantz served the University as assistant director of Marketing and Publications. Previously, she worked at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick, N.J., as director of Arts Marketing and Recruitment for the Mason Gross School of the Arts. Frantz earned a bachelor of arts in communication degree with an emphasis in theatre arts from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., and is an avid bird watcher, enjoys traveling, and reading mystery and biographical books.
